Here’s the first of our new contributors. Albert!
The asphalt under your polyurethane wheels. A feeling of absolute freedom. The combination of total control and willingness to give in. To listen to the trees crackle, the birds chirping and the wheels rolling.
That is – for me – the ecstasy of skating.
I am Albert, a 20 year old student from The Netherlands with a passion for skating. Now I may not be the fastest or do the longest distances, but I do try to push myself to go further. It’s not about winning, heck it’s not even about competing. It’s about finding my own boundaries and crushing them. To show myself I can be like the superheroes I adored (and still adore) when I was a little kid.
When I heard SkateFurther was looking for writers I was on top of that! One of my biggest passions combined with my love for writing. Amazing!
I hope to throw out a lot of reviews, event reports, interviews and my own travels to you guys. To give you – readers – my feelings and emotions in letterform. To make you enjoy what I enjoy, but through a proxy.
