Back in August we brought you news of the Warriors Race which took place in NYC and as the name suggests, is not for the faint hearted. Dubbed as “the most challenging race in NYC, last year 51 riders split into teams to battle it out. The next instalment is planned to take place in the 12th March 2011. This description, taken from the Bustin Blog, should give you a pretty good idea of what to expect:
27 miles behind enemy lines, between you and safety stand 20,000 cops, 50,000 taxi cabs, 10,000 hipster bikers, crackheads, road kill and full on traffic. The Mission: Skate from the Bronx to Coney Island with your crew in less than 2 hours 3 minutes, Warriors Race 2010 winning time.
With many NYC riders currently holding a top 10 marathon time, combined with the thrills and spills of the city environment this race looks set to be intense!
